Water, Environment & Climate Health
The Water, Environment & Climate Health Department at Action Research Collective focuses on understanding and addressing environmental risks that directly affect public health in urban Pakistan. Working at the intersection of water systems, pollution, and community health, the department generates evidence that informs both immediate interventions and longer-term policy responses.
We approach environmental challenges as lived realities. In many urban and low-income settings, unsafe water, industrial contamination, and weak infrastructure are part of everyday life. Our work is designed to make these conditions measurable, visible, and actionable.
What We Do
We conduct interdisciplinary, field-based research to assess water quality and environmental health risks, particularly in underserved communities. This includes a combination of laboratory testing, on-ground data collection, and community engagement.
Our work is not limited to identifying problems. We focus on producing evidence that can guide interventions, support advocacy, and contribute to more informed planning around water safety and environmental protection.
